Over the years, I have used and reused the Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) workbook titled “Get out of your mind and into your life” by Dr. Steven Hayes. It is a good start to realizing that one is in pain but one IS NOT all pain. We’re also tired, exhausted, sleepy, overworked, hopeless and anxious! Jokes apart, as hard as it is (and I have tried over and over), writing down difficult and painful thoughts is helpful. I particularly love the chapter titled “If I’m not my thoughts, then who am I?” . It aligns beautifully with Advaita philosophy (more on that later).
